Progress depends on how much time you have to practice and the difficulty level of the song. I’ve seen students learn new songs in as little as three weeks, while others take six months. On average, it takes about one to three months to learn a new song.
Ideally, you'd practice 30-60 minutes each day, but let’s be real—that’s not always realistic for everyone. When you sign up for lessons, we’ll look at your schedule and create a practice plan that’s sustainable but still gets you results. For busy adults, that might mean 15 minutes, three times a week. Most importantly, I will never shame you for coming to class without having practiced—because that doesn’t help anyone. I’m here to support you, not make you feel bad.
Yes. If you’re taking piano lessons, you will need a keyboard or piano, and I’d be happy to help you choose the right one!
Lessons are 60-minutes
Typically, we use mostly chord charts and lyric sheets, which I’ll provide or send you links to. Occasionally, I might suggest supplemental theory books that you can purchase online, but these are usually optional.
I work with teens and adults who want to learn to play or sing pop music by ear.
